Brienna Elford gained her Bronze Medallion in 1997, patrolled for three seasons, and rowed in the junior girls surf boat crew until she moved to Queensland after finishing Year 12. Upon returning to South West Rocks in 2012 she rejoined the SWRSLSC as an active patrolling member and joined the committee as the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Brienna took on the position of Director of Administration (2013/14 to 2017/18) and then to the Director of Lifesaving in 2018/2019, which she still holds. She is an integral part of the SWRSLSC Education Team as a trainer and assessor imparting her passion for education to all community members. Brienna is a strong advocate for females in the surf lifesaving movement, especially encouraging them to take on leadership positions and awards in the power craft arena.
During the SWRSLSC’s Centenary in 2019, Brienna was an integral part of the organising committee, ensuring a successful and memorable event. She has also been on various subcommittees including – Awards of Excellence, Constitution Committee, SLSNSW Country Championships Committee, SLSNSW IRB Committee and Building Committee just to name a few.
Brienna has been awarded the SWRSLSC Most Outstanding Female of the Year, Administrator of the Year and Clubperson of the Year, SLSMNC Administrator of the Year and Trainer of the Year and in 2013 she was awarded the SLSNSW Administrator of the Year. She was also awarded the Kempsey Shire Council Citizen of the Year in 2022. Brienna was also a member of the SLSNSW Rescue of the Month in October 2022.
