Kevin Ruscoe came from New Zealand in 1949 for a holiday and stayed. He joined the SWRSLSC in 1952 and gained his Bronze Medallion on the 3rd January 1953. Kevin was President of the club from the 1965/66 season until the 1967/68 season and again from the 1969/70 season and continued in that position until the 1979/80 season. He was heavily involved in training and assessing and was also a Surf Sports Official.
Kevin was the second member to be awarded Life Governorship of SWRSLSC in 1992, a Life Member of SLSMNC Branch in 1984 and a Life Member of SLSNSW in 1978. He also held the position of President of the SLSMNC Branch from 1980/81 season until the 1989/90 season.
Kevin worked tirelessly for the Surf Life Saving movement for many years and this was recognised when he was awarded a 50 Year Long Service Award in 2003 and a 30 Year Assessing Service Certificate in 2007.
